This Golden shower rose is a climber which I grow between a tripod of canes in my front garden border! It's smelling superb at the moment!

I don't have many roses Michaella...not a real fan but I must say this is a lovely one with a smashing scent!
Healthy,Scottish, until the dreaded black spot strikes, I suppose!I usually gets a bit each year but nothing too drastic! I' m very careful to take off affected leaves before they fall onto soil!

Tiny buds on mine!! I am keeping an eye out for the black spot Paul...so far, so good this year. I think I blitzed it all from the soil last year and I pruned all the roses hard in an attempt to get rid of it. I've got the sprayer ready for the first sign!!

Do you find fungal as ae effective for black spot Karen? I've never tried them...but I only have a couple roses so no real need!!

Must check to see if mine has any buds on yet, it's tucked away in a very shady corner at the back of the garden, but still flowers merrily once it gets going. I've no roses anywhere in the garden at all yet, just small buds.

They'll be worth waiting for, Louisa. Everything is bursting open now due to 3 warm sunny days on the trot!

I've been growing this one for about 15 years Paul, it always astounds me how well it does in such a dismal place under the neighbours damson tree! We had a couple of nice warm days but this afternoon is cool and drizzly.

Thank you Klahanie!
I will do Michaella.
I have never really been a lover of roses.maybe because so many problems or maybe because you see so many that people don't look after properly! but, I have warmed to them in recent years.I think it's because I see so many in my customers' gardens and some(one in particular ) have a scent to die for! This particular one, every time I walk past it , it's like a new box of Turkish delight being opened!,
It's been gorgeous(just a slightly chilly breeze) all day Louisa but we are paying for our gorgeous weekend for the rest of the week by look of things!!!

Well, although the weather has been awful down here this spring, Summerbreeze, we do generally tend to be one of the mildest parts of th e country so we are lucky...but, it doesn't feel like that at the moment.Dull, damp, cold and windy!
