The base of the birdbath is rod iron. It was a lamp post that came from a local restaurant that was torn down. It had a round white glass globe at the top. About two feet of it is under ground.

Really love this...I'm big on recycling and bring creative...comes from years of living on very little money..LOL...I have quite a few ideas for making things such as birdbaths .I love little qwirky additions hidden in gardens

I really like this pic, coz I have a similar setting for a birdbath. Mine is among daylillies (now almost gone over) and Crocosmia "Lucifer" (now beginning to bud). I love the single piece of hard sculpture amidst a wild/natural setting. Gr8!
