Rescued crabapple in blossom.

last year the whole tree had only two blossoms...I knew it was "kill or cure"...so I moved it late last summer and it made it thro our terrible winter...hurrah!

Thank you ladies! now I'm looking forward to the little bright red crabapples. They are decorative, not edible as the fruit of my other tree is...have been raking and keeping grass cut ..pruning crossed branches and taking out most of the crown, all in an effort to get fruit that can be used at table. I won't spray ..not even dormant oil...so I have to hope that these measures will be enough.

X-0 The crab apples are usually very high in pectin. still, I understand reluctance to consume something homemade with questionable results! Years ago I tried to make wine...when it was supposed to be ready I sampled a few sips... fell asleep on the couch...awoke a short time later feeling very wooozy...needless to say the wine went down the drain! one lesson well learned! lol...
