Shady side of the garden

Shady side of the garden

The shade loving perennials now in their 3rd year - the shrubs behind are being swamped out!
I could not plant fast growing tall shrubs behind - there is a telephone line directly above this border so anything needs to be short or slow growing! Euonymus - you can just make out and Vibirnum tinus Eve Price is tucked under the hellebore foliage that gets taller by the day.
Does anyone know if I can cut the hellebores right down to allow some light to get in.
