Clematis Abilene

My first clem to flower this year, and this only because it is brand new! A great new clematis..grows to about 4 feet high, flowers all summer, cut it back hard in the late winter. Easy! :) I love them when they are at this 'almost unfurled' stage.

Thanks everyone...it makes a great partner for a shrub...good low height...wouldn't swamp a shrub rose.

Sounds and looks just what Im looking for to clothe the fence, my Montana is around 14ft high and i cant see the flowers!

it could be Carole....although you might want something slightly taller than this one. On the Taylorsclematis website you can search the clems. according to their eventual height, which is a very useful facility!

Another beauty Karen, like you I like them when they are just unfurling and you see the colour of the underside contrasting with the front of the petal.

Have just sent for some Clems from Plantify (they use Taylors) but they are more Montanas.......
That is a very pretty Clem K.......a good size also.
