I keep it outside during the summer. It is still inside now.

Stunning!

This is a very common landscape shrub here. The flowers can grow very large. They flower virtually all year.

Thank you Sheila.

Delonix1, We do see them in Mexico everywhere too. There they are not considered anything special there. But here in Canada we grow them inside and love them.

Thank you Feverfew.

They do make a nice indoor plant, except here where they get too many bugs.

So far this one is clean but my girlfriend had to destroy hers because of the bugs.

Yes, indoors they can get a lot of spider mites. Outdoors in the garden they very rarely have this problem.

That was going to be my next question. :-) Now I know.
Thanks

A good year-long active systemic will do. It needs to be kept outdoor for a couple of weeks, though. Most systemic pesticides cannot be used indoors.

I keep it outside most of the summer and then cut it down before I bring it in for winter. I do not have it for long and did not have to use any pesticide yet. But thank you for the advice.

You're welcome. It sounds like a good plan. Although, the longer you have it outside the more bugs will lay eggs in the soil and on the leaves.
