Himalayan Blue poppies...Mecanopsis

Beautiful. Do they need special soil Karen ? I was under the impression they were difficult.

I agree, Cinders. This was my "Holy Grail" in Scotland. I did manage to raise some from seed, which I planted in the garden, but, I left that house to come to France - so I don't know what happened to them.

Wow these are spectacularly gorgeous!

If you have the right conditions they are very easy...but it's the big 'if'. Woodland shade (dappled), cool moist summers, slightly acidic, humus rich soil...sorted:) they are well suited to Scottish gardens. They can take three years from seed, so not something I would be willing to wait for!

That unusual colour never fails to get them noticed. I can see they are not the easiest plant to grow!
