the shrub on the right looks like a paw coming over the fence! - maybe you could do a complete green monster? though a smiley one, like in the Muppets!

Nice idea, but I'm afraid that's an apple tree loaded with fruit for the autumn. Cant wait....

We have only been here just under two years. The apple tree and conifers were pretty much the only plants in the garden and the apple hadn't been pruned in years. So we had about a dozen apples on it when we moved in in September of 2011, I then heavily pruned it and only had a few in 2012 but this year is going to be a good year. The apples are slightly red'ish in colour and very sweet. I'm not sure of the variety.

love your smiling yew...i am growing a pair of elephants at the moment..but they still leave a lot to the imagination...lol
