Have to admit it is a strange flower. And seems the slugs love them - it only started to re-grow when I divided it in spring.

Kasy it is a strange one, I take it the green part is sort of Bract as opposed to petals.

Have had a look it is bract like but unsure if it is the correct term for it, you are the one with the degree in these things, lol
