Thanks - I didn't know the flowers were going to be almost double ones! There are lots of buds. :-))

Our Clems have not done well this year....

Mine are sooooo late! 'Niobe' is just about half-way up her obelisk, no flowers at all yet. 'Blue Angel' isn't nearly in flower either. :-(

Oooh, wasn't expecting doubles! That's lovely!
28 Jun, 2013
Didn't you say you had this one, K? All the flowers seem to be double.
30 Jun, 2013
Yes, I do....no doubles on mine! And it looks to be a little paler than mine too.

my niobe is in full flower , unusual for me to be in flower before you.
this is a very pretty clem ;o)

Well, K, mine came from Taylor's. Are you sure about the name of yours?
Thanks, Sbg. I'm quite worried about 'Niobe'. I'll have to clamber into the flowerbed and inspect her, I think.

Lol! I've already checked it out spritz! The photos on Taylor's all look like mine! I think you have a rogue!
30 Jun, 2013
I've got two of them - both the same! This is a real mystery.

Wow! That's amazing! Well, I also checked their double Clems, and it's not like any of those either. Might be worth sending them a pic...see what they say. There is no mention of double flowers on their description of amethyst beauty. I'll go and look for further clues on my fave. Website...and Louise's!

Well, I've done a bit more research and got no further with clematis on the web. There doesn't seem to be anything like it! It's really lovely. I remember one year my fukuzono sent out lovely doubles....hasn't done it again! Perhaps it's something we'll just have to accept with gratitude! :))

Absolutely. It's probably because they're planted in my posh new trough - they decided to be posh as well! ;-D)

Lol...of course! Why didn't I think of that!

:-D)

It well deserves its name! :-))

Thanks - the two plants are covered in blooms now. :-)

what a wonder this one is! the doubles have a special charm, don't they? Although you can see the markings better on the single ones, perhaps?
I'm falling for clems in a big way... Just got back from a week in hospital (yuk!) to find my beloved 'Ville de Lyon' outdoing itself and climbing higher than ever - nearly at bedroom window this year! - and covered in blooms, a heartening sight (pun perhaps intended!)

Poor you - but what a lovely welcome home! :-)
