This was in a pot for about 3 years Lori & wasnt really doing anything..as soon as i put it in the ground it took off and is doing really well....Have you ever made the wine Lori?...I dont like the smell of the plant and was wondering if the fragrance has any connection to the taste?...:>)

hmmm...think I know the smell you're talking about Moti!...a bit cloying..almost toooo sweet. Hits the sinuses first...right? I have never made the wine, myself. Have tasted others efforts tho. can't say it's free of that sweet-sweet aroma.

I love this plant..but it didn't tolerate the move and mine died the first season here. Yours looks lovely..so pretty and dramatic! I have the white flowered, red fruited (ornamental) variety...want to see if I can locate the fruiting var. Elderberry wine!
