That's beautiful!

A few species are native to San Diego. Most are native to Mexico, though.

I'm really getting into the succulents Delonix. Surprisingly tolerant of the cold if kept dry.
I have a few Agave americana that I'm going to harden off in an attempt to grow one outdoors. Not uncommon here in the UK, but it takes a little effort and a lot of time.

Cacti and succulents, of course, are extremely common here with our very long dry season.

Many of the Agave americana which grow wild here are blooming right now. They take about 20 years to bloom. Some climates they can take about 100 years to bloom. Century plant is one of its common names. It may take about 100 years for it to bloom in the UK. lol!

I just want the huge leaves!

Here the leaves grow huge very, very fast. Over there, not sure how long it will take, maybe a couple of years.

"Over there, not sure how long it will take, maybe a couple of years."

If this weather holds maybe!!!!

I was reading in the UK this plant can take many, many years to develop large leaves. I guess it grows super slowly there, compared to here.

It's a long term project for sure!
