I love the colour of these.I recently bought a bog standard elder,I love the fragrance when they are in blossom.Yours look lovely and bushy.

Thank you Bloomer yes they take up a bit of room, this one is 9 years old now, some people cut them right down to keep them within bounds like Buddleja :o)

That's really lovely. I had one some time ago but it was very spindly and I eventually dug it up! Wish I had persevered with it now I've seen yours :(

this is a lovely busy one Neena. I've got Black Lace. It's normally covered in leaves and flowers, but this year it looks really poorly - hardly any leaves and a few flowers. I'm not sure what to do for the best:o(

Thank you Tracey, I prune mine quite hard and it seems to do well on it so perhaps you could try that if it looks poorly I don't feed mine at all but perhaps you could try a mulch of compost too I hope it perks up for you :o)
