Have grown this flower which has silver hairy foliage, and loves the sun, for many years, but I have no idea it is called, anyone know please?

Yes I would have said a type of coltsfoot Cinders especially with those distinctive petal edges.

Thanks both, I don't think it is a Coreopsis, but it could well be the wild coltsfoot!!

Not sure. Coreopsis springs to mind, but I think that has pointed petals. Also looks a little like the wild coltsfoot.
