I am little bit surprized to see a flower on this daylily. I have lots of them but usually do not have a chance to see it in flower. It is consumed by wildlife in a bud stage. It is not in my protected area.
I rather like it.

Amy, I have 4 motion activated sprinkles to keep them out from my major growing areas. This area is not one of them but I think (perhaps) I am training them to choose a different path. I have one female deer to come to the birdbath for drink every evening and I let her.She usually goes back where she came from. We have here over 8 acres of land ...so plenty of other food. Neighbour across the country lane has a field of good hay and he is not chasing them away. So again plenty of food. I hope that they will learn to avoid the area immediately close to the house...maybe wishful thinking but I do have less damage this year than it the past. :-)
