OH has pruned and lifted the canopy of our very large Arbutus, so we have about 8ft of planting space!! this is to remain in the border.. just hardening it off before the winter.

Thanks both, this is a very difficult shrub to place in the garden, and now that it is not hidden any more, I am having trouble finding suitable plants to put with it....

Handsome, colourful leaves. I do not think I have seen this shrub around here (on Vancouver Island in Canada).
