Bilbo.... I don't know what they are, think they might be called Freckles, looking in my book.Not hightly scented, but some smell. I've noticed on my yellow one, the holes in my leaves and did see a red beetle on it,removed it rather quickly, and keep checking every day, but haven't seen any more, and after removing "holey" leaves, no more have been eaten.Haven't seen any black fungus stuff either, so perhaps I'm safe for now!
