Delicious. How do you eat beetroot? Boiled with butter may be?
We boil them, sliced them and add olive oil and wine vinegar. A hint of garlic if you can stand it. Garlic makes me sick so we add slices of fresh onions.

I like it any way it comes Costa ,I like it hot as a veg.I also like it pickled in Vinegar which is what I'm going to do with this once it's cooled down and cold , I haven't tried it in olive oil and wine vinegar/ onion but like the sound of that ,does it keep in a jar that way for very long or do you have to eat it at once , I came across a recipe this week for Spiced beetroot & orange chutney I might have a go at that ! I like the smaller ones best Paul it's my way to thin them out :o)

Yes, I like the baby ones but bigger ones are ok sliced! We tend to put sugar and vinegar on them!

Julie's mum always did it...and her mum before that.Obviosly a really old tradition. I wonder if it's to preserve it better!

They look good,Amy..I have never had beetroot as a veg, only pickled..but I do like it..A lot of well known Supermarkets sell jars of both traditional pickled,or sweet pickled now..I prefer the first one..but the sweet is a very good seller ..

Thanks Costa I'll deff. try that ! It might be Paul although Beetroot has a high content of sugar anyway I think it's what you get use to as well ,you remember tastes from your childhood and as you say old traditions often the best :o)
Hot beetroot is nice Sandra I like it , home made is much nicer than supermarket jars but then I have to say that don't I ! LOL .... back me up on that Paul :o)
We like our Beetroot Carole , when I was working I like nothing better than a Beetroot sandwich with lots of pepper and salt you had to be careful eating it as the bread turned red , and your fingers !!
