The Cosmos have flowered really well this year. I am still deadheading mine and the buds are still coming.

Mine too Linda....Great season for them.....

Yesterday I dug out some various plants that are beginning to show their age and cut the hostas down. I know that's early for them but we've had a sudden snail increase and they have eaten the leaves away in just a few days.

Snails were up in numbers here too Linda...My hostas didnt do well, though iv been busy and so, less diligent this year.....:>)

I throw the snails on to the tarmac drive and the birds come for them.

Try not to use slug pellets anymore because of the hedgehogs around. Just told a new neighbour about the hedgehogs so hopefully they won't use slug pellets either and said about the fact that we have holes in our fences to let the hogs wander through from garden to garden so they seemed keen.

Thats good Linda...I dont like slug pellets either...though in spring i drop a few into the holes when im planting dahlias.....:>)

A few slug pellets in the middle of your dahlias probably doesn't hurt Motinot. Sometimes they have to be used in moderation, and if you can pick up the snails that have been killed by the pellets, it helps the wildlife not to digest the poison.

It does...im afraid for the birds & the cats & the dog....lol
