Thanks Ladies.
Sarah - cheap bare roots plants from homebase 3 years ago (it was supposed to be blue). Kept in a pot and protected in winter with bubblewrap and a mulch on top. It has taken the 3 years to flower and there is 5! Maybe you just need patience. Oh and a tip from from Meadowland. Tomato feed at the end of the season.

Lovely ... my Mum got fed up with the foliage of some Agapanthus in a medium sized pot ... since putting them in the border they have flowered for the first time in two years ... just shows they DO flower eventually!

That was exactly how I felt about these Shirley. Although I wouldn't consider putting them in the ground here - they'd turn to mush!

Ah yes ... completely different growing conditions to down here! We had a thunderstorm with torrential rain on Saturday morning ... yet parts of my garden are very dry again already .......

(Mouldy shakes his head, regretfully, crossing yet another plant from his list).

That's a shame Mouldy - don't be put off. Give them a try in a pot. They've survived here in the same pot for 3 years. Anyway, they are said to do better in pots and benefit from being pot bound.

Maybe in a couple of years, Scottish.
Right now I want every square inch of soil planted up. Lol.
