Caterpillar???

Anyone seen one of these before? Its about 4 inches long moves quite rapid and if you go near it rears its head up at you, roarrrrrrrr.

Yes I agree it's an Elephant Hawk moth CW. We used to get these in our garden when we lived down the road, and, they do rear up to defend themselves. Lovely to see them though. Ours used to like eating the fuchsias.
