Yes, the heat here has been unbelievable! Many people are getting literally sick from heat exhaustion (me including).

You're very correct this heat is not go for anyone. However, the heat and humidity has been very high and is expected to continue for quite a few days. We're starting to get into some the of the hottest weather of the year. Sept - Oct we can have temps as high as 110ºF (44ºC) in inland San Diego, CA.

i do not tend to look at global tempreture, but thats hot.
thank you for informations and to think plants (some) can handle that kind of heat!

110ºF (44ºC) is the average high for our subtropical low deserts in summer. It can commonly get up to 120ºF (48.8ºC) or higher.

The plants do burn here and even in the desert when we get extremely hot temps. The last time I went out to Palm Spring, CA...the temp was 114ºF (45.6ºC) and I saw a lot of burned trees/plants (it was because it was hotter the days before I arrived there).

its right tho (i think i saw or read this) that the plants do manage too revive themselves again after a really hot spell?

getting rather hot thinking about this :)

Some trees recover very quickly. Some trees/plants can take a long time...and others can actually die.

Last mid-Sept we had one day when the high temp was 108ºF (42.2ºC) and the temp stay above 100ºF (38ºC) from 11 a.m. until almost 9:00 p.m. for about 10 hours. Many of my plants and trees were badly burned (even some my plants that love extreme heat were damaged).

I don't have to think about being hot...as it's 87ºF (31ºC) in my house with the a/c running, right now. Yuck!

Thanks! :>)

We'll have to wait until mid-to-late-December before it cools down during the day...but by then the nights will be perfect.
