Thanks! :>) It's one of my favorite flowering trees.
My African Tulip tree has been flowering since the first week in April...and it should bloom through most of February before it goes semi-dormant.

Klahanie:
The golden-yellow variety 'aurea' is a grafted tree and is very common here in San Diego, CA. It can be grown from cuttings, also.
It's so strange it's not as common in tropical and other subtropical areas, yet.

That is spectacular. I think I like it better than the red one. It is more vivid.

The 'Aurea' variety isn't quite as common as the orange-red, yet...but, it's getting there. They both have very vivid flowers, though.

Yes, I love them! :>)
I need to get some cuttings of the 'Aurea' variety.

Are they fast growing trees? They can get pretty big .

Klahanie:
It can be a very fast growing tree, especially with lots of water and fertilizer. It can grow to become 50ft (15m) tall here; however, in the wet tropics it can become taller than 80ft (25m) tall.
