I'm actually surprised it will bloom there. Good job! It typically needs a tremendous amount of heat to bloom well...especially since it's native to south Florida and the Caribbean.

It's extremely common tree/shrub here. They usually bloom and have the golden berries on them at the same time. It can become a large tree here -- to more than 30ft (10m tall). There's a lot of varieties, also.
