DD - this tree was reduced in height early in the year but took a long time to respond - probably due to the lack of water. I would certainly wait till after C*****mas (nearly said the C word)

Yes it is. And it has attractive bark as well

A very attractive tree I love its dark green leaves which make the white flowers stand out.

A bit late to add my tuppence worth, but sound advice, Andrew, in view of the mild winter we've had, thus far.
Trees are usually dormant by November, but, well, need I waffle on? Lol.

When I saw your flower, I thought it was strange for this to be flowering!! we have the variegated form, but cannot see any flowers, it needs pruning but I am rather afraid to do it at this time of the year?
