Hi, Melchi. It is ceramic, made from clay, as all mankind (rerring to Bible). It is fragile, as humans. It is not nade from marble, or metal. And Maria and Jesus have shapes slightly reminding the oldest sculptures found in this territory (these were sculptures of women).

It made me look at it for a long time. I was very struck by Mary's position. It is a very tragic pose.

Yes, it is very unusual pose for Pieta. But I have seen it several times in hospital. People take hands of those who passed and put them on their faces.

It is very moving.
