I like to imagine how they built such structures in the olden days ... with no modern tools nor modern scaffolding ..

We usually think, that mankind is on the top of civilization. But maybe previous civilizations were much more developed. Like those, who were able to make star maps without seing the planet from the space shuttle. So it is with the buildings.

Yes ... pyramids ... Stonehenge ... lots of amazing ancient structures ...

Definitely they survived centuries. Earthquakes, fires, wars and hurricanes. ;-)

Do you know, Terra, there was an old custom, that the main mason carved his own face somewhere in the building, as portrait. I uploaded the one who was probably builder of this church...have a look. Very unpleasant looking person, lol. Probably a strict scholar.

I remember when Russians came to Prague in 68 none of them knew which city or country they were in (when we asked them.) They slept on the streets and we had to step over them.
