Alexandramou:
Those flower buds are gorgeous! It should be blooming any day now. I can't wait to see the color of the flowers.
Most of my plumerias are still in full bloom. My Plumeria 'Hilo Beauty' has a new flower spike just about the same size as this one posted.
Is the weather still hot there? We're heading into a pretty big heat wave this week...by Wednesday temps should be above 90ºF (32ºC), here in inland San Diego, CA.

It better bloom soon!!!
The two I have in the garden don't have flower spikes. I cleared all the weeds and went and had a good look. I hope they do well there this winter.
It has been really nice here.....high 20's and sunny!!!

With temps in the high 20's C. it should bloom soon. That's perfect plumeria blooming weather.
Last week we had hot weather, then a very unusual cold front came through and brought us some very usually wet weather one night (which was great!)...however, Friday - Sunday it was on the cool side (only 22ºC (72ºF). Today it's was warm, tomorrow much warmer and throughout the whole week. :>)

One more commment. lol!
Those flower buds almost look orange-red. Which variety is this plumeria?

It rained here this morning....lightning, thunder and rain, rain, rain. Then it was hot and sunny. Great for the plants.
It's going to be great weather for the next few days.
I need to go back and check the names......I sowed three different types that year and the labels got lost after the second transplanting.

That's great you're receiving rain. We need tons of rain to get out of the big drought we're in here in San Diego and most of California.
I mark the name on the name of the variety on the trunk of the plumeria (with a magic marker). It's common practice here. It doesn't hurt the plant.

I would like one big enough to be able to mark with a magic marker.

If they grew outside there you would get so many cuttings.
I get large tree-like cutting from friends all the time. I just received a large cutting a couple of months ago. I just planted it into the ground.

21 Oct, 2013
Not yet Delonix. It has grown and spread twice the size now. I think any day now...
21 Oct, 2013
We're all waiting in anticipation Alexandra.!!
21 Oct, 2013
LOL.....so am I Roy. I think I will make a blog about this flower spike!
21 Oct, 2013
Well, as long as the weather stays warm it should bloom until Christmas, or later.
21 Oct, 2013
I'm hoping for this week!!!!!!!!!!!!
22 Oct, 2013
Alex you lucky devil...........cant wait to see it open......

Alexandramou:
Are you keeping it on the dry side? The drier it stays the better it'll bloom.
23 Oct, 2013
Thanks Milky. I posted a pic of the flower today!!!!!!!!!
25 Oct, 2013
Delonix,
How dry?
25 Oct, 2013
Very dry. lol!
The stems store a lot of water. The soil can be allowed to dry out considerably. Plumerias bloom best when the soil is dry.
26 Oct, 2013
You didn't see the picture I posted of the flower yet!!!!!!!!!
26 Oct, 2013
I'll check it out now. :>)

Patience is a virtue but I know what you mean :-)
Looks like it is going to be a beauty.
