Thank you both for your comment and to all for liking.
I have to pull them out early because we are going south for winter and have very little time left now.

Klahanie That's what I did with my Asters - to the compost heap! Time for something new for next year that doesn't look so ratty. Oh...the possibilities.

:-) I will replant them in the spring Bathgate. They would rot in the ground over winter. We live on Vancouver Island (Pacific Northwest) and we have lots of rains in winter time. We do not like the grey cloudy sky and spend winters in Arizona or Mexico. Lots of sun there.

Klahanie. I think the South West is really beautiful. Occasionally I get to spend a week in Scottsdale, AZ for work. I stay at the Venetian just behind "Camelback" I flew over the Grand Canyon in a glass bottom helicopter and I'm still aw-struck. I love the arid rugged beauty and the plants that thrive there are also rugged yet beautiful in their own way. Maybe you can still post a pic from time to time!!

Bathgate, My favourite spot around Phoenix is Fountain Hills.
We stayed in condos called Venetian(II) in Scottsdale (just off the Shea) last year. Also stayed in Sedona last year for couple of weeks and visited Grand canyon on couple of occasions. I think I have a blog here on GOY about it. We found weather in Arizona too cold in December and January and prefer to be in Mexico.

I usually go there in November. I remember coming outside on my balcony at 10am. The view was breath taking but the sun was so strong I literally felt myself cooking. I'm also ghostly white so that doesn't help either, LOL! I'm sure Mexico is beautiful too. I'll check out your blog.
