for me the Matucana madisoniorum i found interesting because i liked the oddness of it and i did wonder about the bit on top so looked up about this plant...
they have a great bloom...and the shape of the body of the plant is a bit different with some... i saw one that had like a squashed globe shape... my interest has developed in cactus...that iam awaiting acceptance into being a member of a cactus group...:-)))))

Thank you Driad ... I hope it does better next year.
That's good Jane. I hope they accept you.
I was disappointed the bud fell off. It has a nicely shaped tubular flower.

I like it :). Is it very old Hywel?

I've had it maybe 20 yrs or more Dawn. It grows very slowly and is only about an inch tall. It usually flowers, but not this year.

Hi Hywel, I thought it looked mature, you must get very fond of plants you've had so long, I didnt realise it was so tiny :). Lets hope it flowers successfully next year.

Yes I get very attached to them ... lol ... pathetic isn't it :D but I can't help it !
I think it didn't flower because it needed fresh compost, which it has now ... so fingers crossed :o)
Thanks Dawn.
