Love the vibrancy and colours of your lilys, judging from your photos I can see that daylilys are your fave. I came across this interesting site yesterday I think they do more of the asiatic and trumpet varieties hwhyde.co.uk you've probably already been on there but I thought it was worth the mention

Just had a look Sharon wow some lovely lilies on there!!!, I especially like all their doubles.
I grow a couple of the bulbous ones but only in pots they always seem to disappear in my borders, but looking at that site I may invest in a couple more :-)
Oh yes dayliles are my favourite, the collection is getting a bit out of hand, and the grass is rapidly disappearing lol, and now I've starting growing from seed too I'll soon need a small field lol.

Yes, some unusual varieties on there. I have the same problem, with so many plants being put out in the borders they get a bit lost. And yes, Well everyone has their favourite, I guess theres so many variations too and in my opinion a lawn of daylilys couldn't be better :)

When the weather dries up a bit another 3ft off one side of the daylily bed to accommodate ones sent to me in the autumn by a couple of lovely friends and a couple of must haves I have my eye on lol, so that lawn full is not to far away.

Did you see that Sheila has updated her site? I have reserves on another site for Popeye, Making Double Time, & Cat Scratch Fever. I have most of the area for the new seedlings dug up, and should start putting them in the ground in about 6 weeks.
Your husband will be happy there is less grass to mow :))

No I hadn't Wylie last time I looked was a couple of weeks ago, I have now though lol, I may have to add another to my list, loving Sentinel Solar Burst :-)
I haven't placed an order yet I need to get my skates on lol, I'm thinking Last Song I've liked that for ages, Hen's Teeth, also I know its an older one but every time I look on Sheilas I'm always drawn to Royal Butterfly so maybe that one too and after seeing how well your Buster Ruster performed last year with all those polymerous flowers well its a must have.
Just looked at the ones you've ordered all very lovely my favourite has to be Cat Scratch Fever WOW!!!
Oh yes hubbies happy about the ever decreasing lawn, although I think he's having doubts about my sanity lol.

I really like Sentinel Solar Burst, and last year I got some seeds using it in the mix, and this year I should have 14 flowering seedlings. I also got Royal Butterfly last year - as a bonus plant! Buster Ruster isn't known for having polys - I have (Fuchsia Four x Grape Splash) X Buster Ruster seeds that are in the last group to be started (this week), and I'm trying for a more consistent polymerous group. FF x GS has put up a scape, and while the early flowers are often single, the second and third flush are close to 100% poly.
I don't think I will be getting anything from Sheila this year. The ones I like are 'Unavailable', although Queen Kathleen is tempting.

12 Feb, 2014

Oooo can't wait to see your seedlings from those crosses Wylie, looking at Queen Kathleen polys must be your aim this year then ;-) see it also has the lovely green throat you like, I'm tempted now :-)
The seeds you sent are doing really well I removed 12 bags from the fridge today were every seed had sprouted and all the others have started to sprout so they won't be long(I didn't sow them all honest lol), I also got 6 packets from the BHHS, Alpha Centauri x Purple Cheetah, Texas Blue Eyes x Angelique Fringes, Trenton Pink Quiller x Jerry Hyatt have all come out the fridge today too :-)

12 Feb, 2014

My aim for this year is doubles that aren't dormant and some tentacled edges. The ones I am starting now have a lot of appliqued throats and large patterns, also a few appliques x doubles. The Texas Blue Eyes x Angelique Fringes should be interesting (I have Spacecoast Starburst x Angelique Fringes for this year)
Which Way is open today, but it is having a rough time because of wind.

13 Feb, 2014

Sounds like my idea of heaven Wylie you know how I love the applique throats, and doubles, patterns and tentacles too!!!! can't wait to see what you get, must admit I've started a LOT of the applique throats of the ones you sent.
There was quite a demand for the seeds sent from the AHS this year and no one got everything they wanted so I was really pleased to receive the Angelique Fringes cross, just hoping I get some with fringes/tentacles and that they show in our climate.
I've had a scape on your Wild Horses x Heavy Metal cross since before Christmas now its not developing much (just tiny buds) but its not dieing off either, I think its waiting for a bit of warmth to give me some early flowers ;-)
The wind is awful isn't it and I know you get it much worse than us!!! we're forecast more for today although is quite calm here at the moment.

14 Feb, 2014

I have had several scapes that are developing real slow - Kokopelli is one, and the Wild Horses x Heavy Metal is another. They are just waiting until there is a warm spell. Silk Mystique is my best performer right now, opening fully & large but weak on colour. There is one in the middle of a section that I emptied except for it because it was getting ready to open. It has been on the brink for several days because we are having a cold spell. As soon as it opens, I will either move it or give it away (it wasn't on my keep list and I just want to make sure).
I have new plants like (Amber Rhum x Kazoo [applique]) X Life Is A Highway; BSA#7 [app.] X Free Wheelin'; Paradise City X Spacecoast Sea Shells; and Spc Sea Shells X Free Wheelin'. You didn't get all the good applique crosses ;))
For this year, I have several crosses using Golden Tentacles - I really like the edge on it. I should try to cross it with some of my appliques for you.

14 Feb, 2014

I started seeds from your (Amber Rhum x Kazoo) x Life is a Highway too but mines BSA 8 ;-)
Remember last year you had one that was quite different and special second time round you never know you might get another.
Sure I've started a Golden Tentacle cross you sent me, must still be in the fridge,an applique using it would be nice :-)
Had a look which others I got from the BHHS, forgot I got another Angelique Fringes xTrifecta so many on the go forgot what I have got lol, also Finish The Race x Dangling Participle,Intelligent Design x White Eyes Pink Dragon,Overdrive X Websters Pink Wonder did have another Ruffled Strawberry Parfait X Heavenly Starfire but they had all sprouted in the packet and I wasn't sure what to do with them, put them in the fridge like the rest but unfortunately they've gone mouldy.
Off to look at Silk Mystique and Kokopelli now new ones to me :-)

15 Feb, 2014

It should be (Amber Rhum x Kazoo [NT#8]). I sent you half of the seeds from from the pod and I have 5 seedlings from it. I think I got confused when labeling the new bag since there is also an (Amber Rhum x Kazoo [BSA#6]). NT#8 is the better one.
Intelligent Design X White Eyes Pink Dragon should give an interesting result; remember I have White Eyes Pink Dragon x Arnette Zapel, and the watermark came from WEPD - it also gave a stunning purple flower. You should be able to find it on my Flickr page. Overdrive X Websters Pink Wonder should be huge.
I'm trying to figure out what to do when that mold develops. I can see which bags of seeds will be a problem when they are soaking, and I've tried washing them and putting in fresh water, but it still develops. I can get a few to germinate, and they get moved to dirt and air ASAP, and are not a problem.

15 Feb, 2014

You're right Wylie it is NT 8!!!! ooops, all the bags on the windowsill got my letters mixed up lol, I have some sprouted of the BSA 6 x Core Values.
Kokopelli is a stunner love it.
Yes it'd be good if the flower was the size of Websters Pink Wonder with the patterning of Intelligent Design wouldn't it, I can dream...........
If you come up with a solution for the mould let me know.
I have some seedlings that should hopefully flower this year of Clean Water Act x White Eyes Pink Dragon, fingers crossed, I'll have a look at yours on flickr :-)
