I wish I was there right now! It's freezing here in NY....BRRRRRrrrr!!

It's been so warm, dry and beautiful here for the last month or so. It may stay warm to hot and dry through most of January. We desperately need rain...as the drought is severe here in California.

The weather ...the weather...dither, dither. I'm so tired of the complete unpredictability of it all. It is raining here, believe it or not! It's the middle of January..and it's raining! about three days ago it was so cold that peoples' water pipes were freezing. Dear old Mother Earth.. her winds are awry, her oceans- swirling fields of debris...her clouds are forming powerful storms....and she's choking for water in some areas and drowning in it in others! I was hoping for a more "normal" winter this year...looks like it's not going to happen.

WOW! That's some very wild and crazy weather!

I hope the weather will get back to normal for you! However, I have a feeling it's not going to get back to normal for a long time. There's so many changes happening to Mother Earth which we don't even know about. I would be surprised if the weather ever gets back to normal!

We have a very strong high pressure in place here in the West. It's caused by a very strong Pacific Decadal Oscillation. There's a big pool of very water over the Pacific Ocean off the coast of southern Alaska and West of northern Washington State. It's causing the Polar Jet Stream to stay very far north. This is causing the snow pack in the Sierra Mountains to be pretty much non-existent. This is according to the Meteorologist here in California. It appears we (here in San Diego, CA) will most likely not have a real winter (not that we much of a winter, anyway). I just hope we don't have a winter like in 2002/2003 when we only received 3 1/2 inches (88mm) of rain the whole season!

Guess my rain dance wasn't effective. It doesn't hurt to expect a miracle, maybe? ...anyway...puff...puff...I'm still dancing for San Diego.

Unfortunately, it's not working. You wouldn't believe how hot it was today. Most areas around San Diego County and Southern California were close to 90ºF (32ºC) or warmer. It's extremely dry with humidity levels below 10%.
