4 Feb, 2014

4 Feb, 2014
Homebird, of course you can use my Photos , or any of my Photos, you must see something in the photo that I don't see.
5 Feb, 2014
Be stupid not to, Bloomer, wouldn't I? ;-)
5 Feb, 2014
Haha,Mouldy..honesty being the best policy,or so they say..not always,in my house.. my OH..,'how did that happen'? ..me..'don't ask me,I've no idea ' :o))

Mr. Nobody always took the blame, or inanimate objects just upped and took on a life of their own, I recall from childhood. Lol.
5 Feb, 2014
That brings back parental memories :o) I thought it was my middle name :o)
5 Feb, 2014
The things we got up to, behind the adults' backs. Lol.

Lol.Mouldy

I sometimes feel genuine sorrow for the lack of adventure in the lives of many of today's kids.
Huts, dens, treehouses...out from dawn 'til dusk, on foot, bikes, buses...exploring, experimenting, experiencing...just being ALIVE!!!
Ah, nostalgia isn't what it used to be, is it? Lol. ;-)
6 Feb, 2014
So do I,Mouldy, sad isn't it? ..no longer allowed to have our carefree childhood freedom, that we remember..and not wanting to go home,in case we were kept in,as it was getting late :o)
7 Feb, 2014
Yes Mouldy, you are right, I see it with my grandchildren no interest in street playing, exploring the fields, fishing for pinkeens for your jam jar, falling in the muck then trying to wash your legs and shoes in the freezing cold poodle before you got home. What great times they were....Lol
7 Feb, 2014
Summers that lasted forever, now gone in the blink of an eye...skinned knees and elbows, gaps in front teeth, a few stitches for the bravest and the honour and envy of sporting an arm or leg cast.
Deep joy! Lol.
7 Feb, 2014
You sound as though you could have been in our gang,Mouldy..2 arm and one leg cast ,by the time I was 10..and the rest...,apart from stitches and the gaps in front teeth,.well, only the transition period from baby teeth :o) .
7 Feb, 2014
It was a dirty job, picking up the double-dare gauntlet, but someone had to do it.
Am I right? Lol.
Once the first goes, then the rest had to follow or their stick (Ever notice how many uses you could find for a stick, as a kid?) got broken, like Chuck Conners' cavalry sabre in 'Branded'. Lol.
8 Feb, 2014
Ha ha,I remember the double dares, but don't remember the stick.must have been when the lads were on their own,and us 'sedate' girls weren't around..but at least we didn't cause any damage to property or cars..We used to notice curtains twitching though, when 'the gang' were on the loose :o)
8 Feb, 2014
Oh,lol at that one,H.bird..those damned cinders spoiling our fun ..and gone full circle now,as I would probably do the same..well,tell them off,anyway..no cinders to be had here..
8 Feb, 2014
'Squeeze' put it well.
"The past has been bottled...". ;-)
9 Feb, 2014
...and labelled with love? You're like Rebus Mouldy, he always puts bits of songs in his stories:-)
We grew up in terraced streets, no gardens ...we played kick the can...allalleo (not sure of spelling lol) here in the Midlands, they call it release, and of course that old favourite...knocking at doors and running away ...how annoying must we have been lol? Forgot about stroke the bunny, girls played two balls up the wall of the corner house, I was rubbish at that. The corner house was where we drew our wickets on the wall too:-) The corner house at the other end of the street was no good as it was near a busy road:-)
9 Feb, 2014
I was guilty of knock and run..and raiding Apple trees in gardens with our gang..little did we realise when denying it,we were covered in soot, they used to put around the base ! Oh,the cracks I have had from my mum..much harder than any my dad gave me,but well deserved,on reflection :o)
Good job there were no ASBO's then..but 'the look' was sometimes enough to make us behave..only sometimes :o)
10 Feb, 2014
K.T.D.A.R, or knockdown ginger, as I've sometimes heard it called.
We'd set alight to newspaper...with dog poo wrapped inside, or tie opposing doors together with string.
Also, like you, BA, kick the can, although we'd go to the cinema for the day and leave some hapless kid searching the streets for us!
Scrumping, pinching milk from doors, (or altering the dial on their crate to read twelve pints, instead of two), steaming (when a collective crowd paticipate in theft) the sweetie counter at Woolies.
Haley Mills and 'The Bad Seed' spring to mind. ;-)
We were pure, unadulterated evil! LOL.
10 Feb, 2014
Good grief Mouldy, you didn't put the lit 'parcel' through the letter boxes did you? Everyone knew my mum too Hb, the trick was...you didn't let anyone see you do it. I see now how right I was Mr Mouldy, pure evil, not like that nice Dr Laithe:-))
10 Feb, 2014
Of course not, BA.
That would have been most uncouth.
Dr Laithe was the one left searching the streets for the rest of us.
Did I mention he changed his name from Crippen?
No? Oh, how remiss of me. Lol.
11 Feb, 2014
Trust you to cast aspersions on that nice Dr Laithe>:-[
11 Feb, 2014
That's jolly unfair.
I wasn't the one murdering women. Lol.
