An artist always criticise s they own work never thinking its good enough, its what and how you see that others don't remember that.

Love the light on the water in this one. It's very difficult to paint the sea & not get a vertical effect. I'm thinking of those maritime pictures of ships, seen in the art galleries where the sea looks like a wall & the ships perched on top.
I suppose it's because the are no other reference points when out at sea, no beach or headland in sight, to give perspective.

Looking at Johnjoes photo I think you ve captured it all perfectly.

The pebbles are brilliant, Hb - and the water around them. In fact, it is a super picture altogether. I love the light on the second wave.
