She is a topper! I think this is the best. I'm not fond of KH..a bit washed out for me. I do love George, but it's very dark and doesn't zing out...but this one is perfect!

I agree - I only discovered her last year, but I might plant a whole lot more inn the autumn. :=))

Spritz...what is the difference between histrioides and reticulata? would I be able to grow the former here? or are they less tough?

21 Feb, 2014

No idea botanically speaking, but I find histrioides are sturdier and last longer. I don't think there's any difference in hardiness at all, so yes, you can grow them! :-)

Excellent! Thank you!

More and more deep blue irises have popped up this weekend B! I am really pleased! :))

24 Feb, 2014

They're a real pleasure, aren't they.

25 Feb, 2014

They really are! I didn't have any in the ground in the old garden, because as you know, I never leave the ground alone for bulbs to thrive. I might remove the ones I have here and put them in the raised bed...near the edge, so they will be left in peace and stand a chance next year! When we removed all the old plants, we just replanted the bulbs we came across as we went. I didn't even recognise them as Iris!

...none of them are as lovely as this lady Betty though. She is lovely!

Superb blue.......

Yes - I'd say she's the best dwarf Iris I have. :-))

mine are well over, partly due to slugs. :o(

I will have to get more too.

Not in pots - they're sooooo expensive compared with the bulbs!!!

I shall consult the catalogues in the autumn!

Yes, I get mine from a catalogue - the GCs don't seem to sell these, only reticulatas.
