comparing this to the other photo showing a stream running past - both taken on the same day (lol i went back to check!) did it rain that much in one day to make that much difference??

No, the other half of the wall is right by the stream. This bit is the new section - extended across the garden. The stream curves away. If that all makes sense?

yes its blue lias[?spelling?] stone. and beautiful it is too, not that you were fishing for compliments but compliments are true.
