Snowdrops

We lost quite a large tree to the left of the picture in the winter winds which has given me a nice clearing now to plant something new, exciting :-), the branches are marking where the paths will be hubbys going to do them properly when he's finished chopping all the dead trees and branches, the chainsaw is being sharpened on a weekly basis at the moment :-)

I'm wanting a Witch Hazel for my clearing Dd just can't decide which one don't want to rush these things, spaces don't come up often lol,and there's a huge tree root to try and remove first.

You could charge for a snowdrop walk there Kath, lol. it looks so pretty, shame about the tree but great to have a space to plant up.

You said it was a little wood Kathy it looks huge to me , what a pretty place to spend time in ,it doesn't seem like work when you are enjoying what you do .. !

Looks super Kathy, I like your path edgers. Originally when our trees were small, we had grass paths through the trees but as more leaf mould has built up plus the wet winter, they paths are kind of sludgy and covered in leaves so we've started putting the small twigs, branches that have fallen on them to give them a bit of stability. The snowdrops look great btw.

We have some bigger branches for the path edges Dawn when Robs finished cutting, then hes going to dig the edges and half bury them. Its been really slippy in our wood to I've been doing lots of shredding, the drawback of growing huge perennials, compost bins all full so I put all the shreddings on the slippiest bits which helped a lot.
Ooo thanks 3d off to have a look :-)

Good idea on the shredding for the paths and like your idea of half burying the logs :)
