Tree Peony

How lovely for you, had one in the Midlands, wonderful plants....

I would love a tree peony, one day ......

First time I've grown them Dd only had a few flowers on each so far but they are growing :-)
Just looked back when I bought these Dawn 2010 they were from an amazing offer in a Sunday mag 14.99 for 5 free P+P thought they were to good to be true but sent for them anyway, huge plants!!!! unfortunately I couldn't decide where to put 2 of them so potted them in huge pots but we then had that awful winter and even in the greenhouse the pots froze so lost them, could kick myself as one was a lovely white with black center, the other 3 are doing great though and still a bargain :-)

We were given one last year Kathy a friend who didn't have room for it dug it up and gave it to us ,it was very big I didn't think it would survive but I noticed yesterday it was shooting , I'm looking forward to seeing it bloom I'm not sure if it will this year after it's move ...

Kathy, wow, what a deal, they are quite expensive from the garden centres, arent they. I saw one at an open garden an couple of years ago, it was an amazing sight. I guess we have to be patient with some plants, 4 years, hey. Are the frost tender?

Yes they are really expensive Dawn thats why I had to give the offer a try, glad I did :-), tough as old boots, these were planted out during both of the last cold winters and came through no problem.
