Karen a shady trough, somewhere you can keep control of snails as they eat the buds as do mice.

I grow mine in pots Karen, never did get round to organising a trough for the shade, YET! - I tuck them away when they are finished and bring them out for the rains later in the year. I've one left struggling in the ground but it's still alive - but I think that's my own fault, I gave it a bit of a mulch with some ericaceous compost and it could have got a bit damp underneath.

Oh, just look at that. I really love this! The colour is beautiful, the shape of the flower....I just love it! I have total plant envy now!
