Even though it may grow to 40 or 50 feet after another 30 years, it will retain its slim form its entire life, a trait especially valuable to those with limited space.

That's a harsh lesson Simbad. It's very brave to cut down a tree you've been nurturing for so many years.

Must be a weeping white spruce, I have seen a lot of them and they all have that same shape. I've never seen one that size though, thanks for posting it.

I don't see many of them at all in the home garden. This one was on the grounds of NY Botanical Garden. They have many unusual trees. You are welcome.

Oh so wish I'd thought about height and spread of one I bought Bathgate, Cedrus Deodara, its the most gorgeous specimen but after 11 years its rapidly outgrowing its space :-( I don't want to chop it as I love it, but there will come a time, this would have been a better choice you live and learn.
