really like the old planter.

Thanks Marybells ... There used to be a flower border running along the inside of the laurel hedge. This was done by the builder/landscaper and made maintenance of the inside of the hedge almost impossible. I have therefore removed the plants from the border and grassed it, for easier maintenance. The pot as you say makes a nice feature and is actually right outside the front door. The daffodils in the grass are a "mistake", I thought I had dug them all out of the old border. I'll get the rascals next time!

Thanks Carmela 2000. We were very lucky to get this ..... We think it is 60 - 70 years old. My cousin had it, loaned it to my Mum in the 1970's. I was asked to return it to my cousin, when Mum unfortunately passed away 5 years ago. My cousin passed away last year, we were praying that we could have this. My second cousins kindly agreed to let us have it, when they sold their Mums house, as they had no use for it ........... Phew!

Lovely story of the pot Alan. I'm glad you have it. It's beautiful. My MIL passed away a few weeks ago, and there is a nice pot of Dad's in the garden that I am hoping is coming to live here...must remind OH to pick it up today!

I think it is in the car boot Alan I've not been well today, so haven't been out to check it yet...to make sure OH brought the right pot, but I'm sure he will have done. I will post aid as soon as it's looking lovely!
