indeed! perhaps that's what the bulbs I lifted from the raised bed, which then got mugged and had to be "caged", are tulips too - the leaf shape seems similar.
A bit hard to get at, or even to see, being that close to the shrub that would tend to overhang it and shade it. They seem to be doing ok, but perhaps they mgith do even better somewhere less shaded.

Not shaded at the time they bloom Fran. All that matters. They are not good at reflowering anyway. Some do and some tulips don't reflower. Not enough energy in the bulbs left after flowering. Best bulb for a good show, early, time after time are a small narcissus (daffodil) tete a tete. They like being under and grown through perennial geraniums.

lol I have a tub of Tete-a-Tete, brought wiht me from the old place, and they're one of the six packs of narcissus I bought at Sainsbury's and planted this year.
The "old" Tete has finished flwoering, but the new crop has started coming up - I'll have to Google "images" of each species to find what each looks like, but I have narcs aplenty!

Just to say Fran fresh tulip bulbs make a bright statement but once thev'e bloomed they are not reliable. Early Harvest is really early even when its cold. I got some double yellow parrot tulips from QD in cheaper packs and they have been spectacular.

I'd not planned to get tulips, they never seem to do much to me - got these by inheritance; I might move them later, put them all together where they might make a bit more of a statement, but otherwise ... got enough "want" plants on my list as it is
