thanks, Gillian...when the russian olive was in bloom, the scent filled my whole garden..you could smell it as soon as you opened the gate...i can't find a nursery that carries them anymore, and i so wanted one for here..thank goodness i took the pic..brings back memories..pat..

Was the Russian Olive what we call Russian Vine [a rampant climber with white flowers?]

hi, Pansypotter...no, it is actually a small tree, altho come to think of it, it does have multiple trunks, and is sometimes considered a bush, it is now banned in some states because it can be invasive..still available here in ontario some don't like its strong fragrance, but i love it...and BIG NEWS,,,today i found a garden centre that is getting some in next week!!! just a few miles down the road..so i'm hoping to go there next Saturday...i'm so happy...does the Russian Vine have small yellow blossoms with a strong fragrance? they might be closely related....

The Russian Vine has white flowers and is a very invasive climber! pleased you are going to be able to get your Russian Olive, they do sound very closely related;0)
