Beware of the lily beetle, if you start to see small bite marks in the lily leaves, take a careful look in the small crevices, between the leaves and the plant stem.

Making more lily beetles by the looks of things!

Until you pointed that out I thought they were playing "leap beetle"..........That's why I put the photo on the site after the "water shed" just in case I had it wrong :~))
Killed a couple more today.

Aye, I'd hate for someone to flag you Alan. Beetle porn is really frowned upon ;)
We don't have lily beetles up here YET!

Sorry to hear that Shirley, as the end results can sometimes be absolutely stunning. Isn't Scottish funny ... I hope I don't get banned from the site just yet!

You won't get banned for lightweight, inoffensive banter Alan! :o)

That's interesting Milky ..... I know blackbirds consider mealie worms to be our equivalent of caviar .... I wonder if Koi consider lily beetles to be in that category too? Maybe we'll never know. <]:~))

They are a complete pain here. Especially as I'm building up a fairly large Tricyrtis collection and they love Tricyrtis.

My wife recently sprayed all potted lilies with Pravado, Ultimate Bug Killer. I still do checks, twice daily, but haven't seen any since she sprayed them. Good luck with yours, fingers crossed.

Horrid little critters Alan, thank goodness they are so vivid in colour, at least we can pick them off easily! Did you know, if they fall, they land upside down so they're invisible against the soil?

I didn't know that, but I do tend to drop them on the patio which is a York stone colour, they can still be easily seen .... But not for long.
