Acer palmatum Eddisbury (Coral bark maple)

Acer palmatum Eddisbury (Coral bark maple) (Acer palmatum)

This was a gorgeous specimen at 5ft tall. In 2012 it suffered really badly after an attack of aphids and possibly water logging. I cut off all the branches except one very thin young stem. It's chances of survival were very slim! It's a fighter and now just needs to regain some of the structure it lost.

Wow,Scottish,it looks to be winning the battle now,it's lovely.I didn't know Acer palmatums suffered from aphid damage.I don't have this one,but have a small purple one, which I kept inside over winter..I shall have to keep an eye on it..I bet you are really pleased to see it thriving..:o)
