Now I recognize it as the Handkerchief Tree that I've seen on gardening programs.

The one in Oxford Botanic Gardens was in full bloom yesterday and it did look truly fantastic!
Lucky you having a blooming sized one!

Thanks Meanie
I was watching in the wind just before dusk they dangle from stalks like a cherry just amazing, I know I have said before but I just thought I would never see.

Missed this Gnarly, that is a tree to die for! Like Wylie I recognise it as the handkerchief tree from my old gardening book. Lucky you, it's stunning!

Thanks Janey
It looks like it is setting seed on three of the bracts, I will have to read up on how to sow them if they mature ?
The garden center I got it from has "odd plants in now and again" I oohhh and arrrhed for two minutes then in the car it went , the original part I have cut out as it sent the one straight shoot out from the base only 5 years ago so every year I would cut out another piece of the original bush so the energy would go into the lead shoot, must of worked.
