Thankyou it is rather huge and its spreading habit makes it very useful for growing on the side of the hill its planted on :-), I grew this one from a cutting many years ago.

I am envious Simbad. I love the plant. I planted 6 of them when we moved to this property. None of them survived. Last winter killed the last 2.
What is that lovely tree behind on the left side?

Oh what a shame Klahanie I had 5 including a couple of the more upright forms, but lost 2 in the cold winters the others looked pretty tatty for a while and even thought this one might not recover the leaves went brown on a lot of it, last year it didn't flower well but this year back to normal, think they're noted for not being long lived.
The tree with the flowers just going over is a rowan but if you mean the one with the white ball shaped flowers that's a Viburnum Opulus 'Roseum'(snowball tree),now that's completely hardy and survived the cold winters here no problem, lovely large shrub quite vigorous but can be pruned after flowering to keep in check, I'll take a better picture for you later :-)

Did you know there's a pink ceonothus too 'Marie Simon' semi evergreen,I lost my large plant of it in the cold winters but luckily I'd taken a cutting and that's coming on well.

I just cannot grow from cutting Simbad. I tried many plants with no luck. Except couple of rhododendrons. My greenhouse went down with the wind few years back and rebuilding it is not on my DH priority list.
Seeing your plant here wants me to plant another one.

I'd give it another go Klahanie I wouldn't want to be without this in my garden :-)
Know what you mean about the wind we live on top of a hill the wind is quite scary, I've a few panes out my greenhouse that need replacing too.
I'm sure yours will look great in no time Marybells once they get going there's no stopping them :-)
