Geum "Mrs Bradshaw"

Funny you should say that. I've noticed a lot of variation in my Geums too. Not in my garden so much, but when you google them for photos, you get quite a variety of shades on what is clearly the same plant.

I thought that it was down to the chemical makeup in the soil, but not complaining its nice to get a variation from the same species;0)

I think this is the variety I have Carole,given me by a neighbour a few years ago..It took two years to even get going,but it's looking good now.I'm glad I persevered,as it almost went in the Compost bin ! I might try some in a different place,as it's big enough to split now..I love it :o)

I think it possible that some may be seedlings so people sell the plants in good faith, but they are slightly different. It appears that geums are rather promiscuous. This year I had a good sized plant growing in a paving crack by a few of my geums, I thought one may have walked, but eagerly awaited the flowers. Unfortunately it had a horrible tiny yellow flower ...out it came:-)
