I really really love foxgloves. All shapes and sizes. Bought a new one to me this year Chocolate something or other could be Chocolate spires not sure, will have to go and read the label. lol my memory is getting worse. lol :O)

They can create quite a root can't they Amy. I find they dont like being moved either.
Hi Olive, your foxglove sounds nice. I asked my neighbour about the red oriental poppies, she thought I had given them too her or had bought as a root from poundland, sorry, no name.

I've just ordered Digitalis grandiflora for my golden border. Digitalis lutea is another lovely one, but smaller flowers. And D. Lanata too! But in an English woodland you can't beat Digitalis purpurea!

if you eat the seed or any part of the root your heart will race. Digitalis? People take it for angina, don't they?
I think you found the secret of foxglove Auntie! (Dawn's) they are very much like a wildflower. I've had hopes of getting some established in the fern border to the forest, can't report any success. Will have to go out and look. lovely pic!

I love foxgloves too - as do the bees. One I put in last year, which I think is called Roundhey, has tiny flowers in peach and pale lemon. It's entertaining watching the bees squeezing themselves into the narrow tubes.

I adore them and just let them seed around in this area and any extras I'm gradually moving to the woodland :-)

I saw Milk Chocolate the day after you mentioned it, Olive - and bought 2!

they are very pretty Tuesdaybear, still only one flower on mine but hopefully they will come back another year. :O)
