Salvia "Raspberry Royale"

Lovely isn't it! Hopefully it'll be hardy and I can share it next year.

You may recall I have this one, sadly the cuttings did not 'strike' for me/or you! This looks a very different colour to my rather vivid pink 'Raspberry Royale'.

The whole flower structure of yours is different isn't it? From your photo (apart from the colour difference) I can see that the style protrudes whereas mine doesn't.

You would be in 7th heaven here in San Diego, so many Salvia species grow wild.

I have some Californian species growing too.

Most Salvia species are very popular and easy to grow here in California.

The trouble with the Californian species that I have is that they're winter bloomers for you, which messes with their growing time over here too. But I bloomed S.elegans well enough last winter so I fancied a go at other winter bloomers.

Yes, there's many that bloom in winter.
